ABOUT
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I'm Jonathon Wilson a Senior Game/Level designer currently working at Hangar 13.
I started as a junior at Coatsink but quickly became a design lead across several games. Afterwards, I worked at Pocket Money Games briefly before joining Hangar 13 as a level designer on the iconic Mafia: Definitive Edition. After Mafia, I took the next step in my career and went freelance during which time I worked with UsTwo Games on DESTA: The Memories Between and contributed a few other projects. Throughout my career,
I specialise in game and level design and have become well-versed in both throughout my career working across console, VR, Mobile and PC development. I have worked in the game industry in some capacity or another for 10+ years working primarily as a game or level designer but have spent some time in biz dev and QA. Level design is the area of development I am most passionate about as it allows me to concentrate on creating memorable moment-to-moment gameplay experiences while also helping to curate the overall player experience.
Outside of game development, I spend time working as a mentor through Into Games and Limit Break as well as some work with NextGen helping to guide the next generation of game developers and make sure they know more about our industry. I am also a member of BAFTA where I have had the pleasure of supporting their initiatives and serving as part of the BAFTA Games Committee, chairing multiple award juries.
