Overview:

Working as a level designer on Mafia: Definitive Edition I was responsible for multiple missions and managing that workload effectively while also supporting some junior designers in the development of their missions. I was mainly responsible for the Happy birthday (Mission 15) and Moonlighting (Mission 20 ) missions in the game both of which were very different to each other are required a different design approach. One was quite exploratory while the other was quite fixed in structure. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing full mission scenarios for multiple missions: Paper design to implementation

  • Blocking out level layouts for multiple locations (Steamboat, Docks and Bank Vault)

  • Mission scripting 

    • Combat scripting ​

    • NPC/world interactions 

    • Mission flow 

    • Checkpoint restoration and tracking

  • Closely liaising with art, animation and narrative to deliver the intended experience

  • Bug fixing 

  • Closing out the project on the mission team
